There are so many photo spots to choose from in Brisbane and South East Queensland and I am forever finding new ones as the landscape changes. Here are a few to check out and some extras…
1.) Brisbane Botanic Gardens
A great spot with lush gardens, river views, and some stunning nearby architecture. Parking can be tricky mid-week but a good spot to use during the weekend.
2.) GOMA and the State Library / Southbank
For something a bit more funky and urban the Southbank precinct has a lot to offer for creative photographers. There is ample greenery, river views, large spaces for the kids to run around in, and some great architecture to give your shoot an edge.
3.) New Farm Powerhouse
An oldie but a goodie, the Powerhouse is a favourite for nearly every North Brisbane wedding photographer and family photographer. It offers a great variety of large structural backgrounds with the park and river just next door. The only downfall is that you often have to share the space with the other groups using the area and there are also the Jan Powers Markets operating the space on a Saturday.
4.) Kangaroo Point Cliffs
The cliffs offer some iconic city and river views and also have great light at sunset turning the cliffs a lovely burnt orange. Parking can be difficult and the steep climb up the stairs to thew road can be difficult and time consuming for the elderly and small children so you may have to find some fit clients!
5.) Wellington Point
This South Brisbane location is a favourite for Brisbane landscape photographers but has a variety of great spots for portraits as well! There are some beautiful old fig trees that create a lush backdrop and there is enough beach space to get some great images of your clients exploring the shoreline at golden hour.
6.) Some of my favourites…
I love finding new and unique locations off the beaten track. If you like the look of any of these lets get in touch so we can create something perfect for your shoot!
